Hallo all old and new. I've assumed the role of Traditional GD alongside these fine gentleman as of earlier this week, moving over from Manga/Anime into the fantastic realm of Traditional Arts.

I'm sure you're curious as to who this new person may be, yes? Well, hullo there. My name is Alysia, but you can call me Rocky. I'm 25 and currently living in the United States. Art has been something of an important part of my life since I can remember.

I'm self taught in conte crayons, oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolour, inks, to name a few. I currently hold an office-type position Monday through Friday, but after hours immerse myself in my two passions: Art and Music.

I will most likely be throwing you links to both during my tenure, hah: duck and cover an' all that.


Is something wick'd, honest-truly. A few notes to you if you happen to find your deviations in Scraps.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Scraps. On a personal level, I love it. As you may have noticed, I've currently 106, hah. It is the perfect place to hold your WIP's, snapshots, or anything you'd rather not have clogging up your gallery. Your gallery is how you present yourself to the world.

If you happen to find your deviation in Scraps, don't fret. There may be a few reasons why this has happened. If you're still unsure, you can always contact ~helpdesk and rationally explain why you believe this to be erroneous.


I know for a fact that we have some exciting events in store for you, but I can't let the cat out of the bag, just yet. Make sure to keep an eye out, though. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!


So you'd like to suggest a Daily Deviation to me? Awesome! Here are a few tips and tricks:

I only accept suggestions from the Traditional Art Gallery.
Please take care to explain to me why you believe it should be featured.
Send it to me in a Note with the title: "DD Suggestion" (or some other variance)
Honest- I probably won't reply back to you. This has nothing to do with you and has everything to do with it's easier for me to make my decision spot-on. If I were to reply to every suggestion I receive, I'd never have time to feature anything, heh.
I may choose another piece from the deviants gallery. IF this is the case, I will list you as the suggester. This is also the only case where I will reply to you; to let you know my decision. It's also the perfect time for you to speak up if you wish not to have your name listed.
Please only send your suggestion to one gallery director. This eliminates confusion. If the piece hasn't been featured in a months time, then you may send it along to another.
This is perhaps most important: DO NOT SUGGEST YOURSELF. I will disregard it.

Just a friendly reminder that the Traditional Art (Traditional Art > Animations > Coloured Animations (or) Pencil Tests), Digital Art (Digital art > Miscellaneous > Animations) and Flash Gallery are still a great place to submit your pencil tests and clips of projects despite dA Film now being live.

Please keep in mind that copyrighted music is not allowed on deviantART under any circumstances unless you've acquired written permission.
